  5. A new release of libwww, the public domain code library for
  6. W3 clients and servers, is now available as
  7. <ftp://info.cern.ch/pub/www/src/WWW*2.06.tar.Z>

  9. Also released at the same time is the httpd HTTP server,
  10. and the "www" line mdoe browser.

  12. Changes are documented in the web.  The main ones are:

  14. - Improved handling of WAIS access, including caching of
  15.    wais server descriptions in /usr/wsrc.
  16.  
  17. - Directory listings (server anmd client) for local files
  18.   are now separated into subdirectories and files,
  19.   and sorted alphabetically.
  20.  
  21. A number of bugs have been removed.  Binaries
  22. of www and httpd are available for Sun, Decstation,
  23. HP, rs6000, next
